KERN RIVER CLEAN UP by RAFT!
Recognizing the Kern River Valley Spring Nature Festival, Earth Day and National River Cleanup Week

Kernville, California -- Mountain & River Adventures (MRA) invites you to participate in a FREE river clean up during the 2007 Kern River Valley Spring Nature Festival held this year on Saturday, April 28, 2007 near Kernville, CA.

“Making the time to maintain our pristine environment, while at the same time teaching the next generation about the importance of protecting our rivers and streams is a responsibility we all share,” states John Stallone, president of Mountain & River Adventures. “Part of my company’s vision is to help people connect with nature and learn to respect the outdoors, and that includes helping to preserve one of our most serious resources, our rivers. We teach by example on the river.”

Volunteers will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the parking lot of Mountain & River Adventures Campground, 15775 Sierra Way, just 2.5 miles north of Kernville. We anticipate cleaning up about a five mile stretch of river and this should take about four hours by raft.

Participants are encouraged to wear layered clothing, and bring hats, sunglasses, shoes that fit securely with a back strap, sunscreen, water and snacks. Personal floatation devices, paddles, rafts, and guides will be provided.

Raft take-out and photo opportunities of all the items collected will take place to chronicle our “river booty” and provides statistics for the National River Clean Up group.

For more information or to register, please contact Mountain & River Adventures at (800) 861-6553. Paddle for a purpose with MRA.
