The Friends of the Kern River Preserve is a
membership organization that provides financial and volunteer support for the Preserve.
The Kern River Preserve offers a
wide range of opportunities for individuals or groups to help us carry out our mission.
If you have skills in education, science, construction,
maintenance, agriculture or any other field that you feel can advance our mission, please

BE A FRIEND:
Your
support is critical to the success of the Kern River Preserve. Support our mission
by becoming a member of the Friends of the Kern River Preserve and volunteering on
one or more volunteer projects or events. Please consider making a monetary and/or
"Preserve Wish List" donation (See
membership/donation
application page.).
PRESERVE WISH LIST:
1. Office equipment of all types from paper clips, pens, and paper to modern copiers,
Pentium computers and laser printers. 2. "Farm" equipment from nails,
small tools, and painting supplies to a modern tractor, flatbed trailer, and new pick-up
truck.
VOLUNTEER NEEDS &
OPPORTUNITIES:
A team of people to serve as hosts,
instructors, chaperones, materials preparers, and general assistants for Kern
River Preserve visitors and special events.
A team of gardeners to take on
the responsibility of lawn and garden care at Kern River Preserve
Headquarters.
A team of people to be mentored
on newsletter production and web site maintenance with
the eventual goal of turning these two projects into entirely volunteer Friends of the
Kern River Preserve efforts.
People with painting,
carpentry, and/or electrical skills to do construction, repairs, and maintenance
on Headquarters' buildings and equipment.
People with fundraising
skills.
